RCLDS Training Forum

The forum provided an opportunity to report on achievements made throughout 2012, explore future training opportunities and consult with the sector on the RCLDS Training Plan.

The forum also invited community service organisation representatives to share their views on the training needs of their workers, and explore the future directions of the RCLDS Training Plan.

The Centre’s interim CEO Kevin Larkins opened the event before passing over to Jerry Ham from Mackillop Family Services, who performed MC duties. The Centre’s Manager of Research and Social Policy, Amanda Stevenson, then presented an overview of the 2012 RCLDS Census (more information is available here), before Glenys Bristow provided an explanation of Therapeutic Crisis Intervention.

Edith Lock and the Centre’s Manager of Learning and Development, Judith Newbold, then presented a RCLDS year in review.

The day concluded with a workshop of group activities, which delivered enormously valuable information that will guide the RCLDS training program through 2013. Training opportunities will be publicised in the Centre’s online calendar once 2013 dates are finalised.
