Regional Visits

Last week Centre staff travelled to Bairnsdale as part of a three part regional tour.
These meetings provided an opportunity to introduce regional providers to the Centre’s new Strategic Plan, which will soon be made publically available.
National Framework for Protecting Australia’s Children

The First Action Plan 2009-2012 built an evidence base for latter initiatives, as well as achievements including establishment of the National Children’s Commissioner and development of the National Standards for Out-Of-Home Care.
Volunteer Resource Kit

Safe Work Australia has released the Volunteer Resource Kit to address lingering confusion about the impact of harmonised work health and safety laws on the volunteer sector.Workplace Relations Minister Bill Shorten has said that the resource will “remove any confusion by clearly showing volunteers and the organisations… how to comply with work and safety requirements.”
Governance Forum

On Monday 3rd September the Centre is hosting a forum to discuss governance in the child and family services sector.

National Residential Care Workshop – positions available

The Centre recently hosted the launch of Jatinder Kaur’s report examining data around CALD and refugee families in the Australian Child Protection System.
