In partnership with VICSERV, the Centre is offering the Diploma of Management in 2013.The Diploma of Management allows participants to undertake a formal, nationally recognised tertiary qualification, which can be attained by attending eight modules over a 12 month period, and undertaking a practical work-based project.

On the 15th October the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare is celebrating its 100th year at a special Annual General Meeting.

In April this year, the Victorian Government announced a parliamentary inquiry into the handling of alleged criminal abuse of children by religious and other organisations.
The scale of the abuse – which was most prevalent through the 1960s, 70s and 80s – is now becoming apparent, and has received significant media coverage over the past weeks.

On Monday 22nd October the Children's Protection Society is conducting its inaugural address, with Professor Iram Siraj-Blatchford presenting on the Long Term Impact of Home, Early Education and School on Achievement and Disadvantage.
Impact of High Frequency Contact – Seminar

On Wednesday 24th October the Centre is hosting a seminar looking at the impact high levels of parental contact have on infants in care.
The seminar will be conducted by Jeanne Kaniuk, Head of Adoption and Permanent Families Service at the Coram Foundation in London.

Governance Forum – 3rd September 2012

Last Monday the Centre hosted the Governance to Strategy Forum, which provided an opportunity for CEOs, Board members and senior executives to come together and discuss how our sector can respond to challenges raised in the Protecting Victoria’s Vulnerable Children Inquiry, and adapt to our changing landscape.The forum was facilitated by Steven Bowman – Managing Director of Conscious Governance – who is recognised for having transformed the application of governance and strategy.
