The aim of the Quality Learning Circle Reference Group is to ensure the Department of Human Services Standards are communicated to the Community Service Organisations and stakeholders through the Quality Circle Learning meetings.:
VCOSS Community Sector Reform Council Consultations

In September and October, the Victorian Council of Social Service (VCOSS) is hosting a series of consultations with community sector organisations across the state regarding the principles and priorities for the Community Sector Reform Council.
The consultations will provide participants with an opportunity to discuss the objectives of the Reform Council and provide feedback and direction of the work of the Reform Council going forward.

Children Youth and Families (Permanent Care and Other Matters) Bill 2014
The Victorian Government announced legislative amendments to the Children Youth and Families Act 2005 to promote planning, decision making and permanency for vulnerable children and young people, referred to as Children Youth and Families (Permanent Care and Other Matters) Bill 2014 (Bill). The Bill will also make other amendments to the Children Youth and Families Act 2005 (CYFA) that include:
Profiling Future Carer Families at Australian Institute of Family Studies (AIFS) conference

Amanda Stevenson, Manager, Research and Social Policy presented a paper to the AIFS conference, 2014 on Friday 1 August that explored the meaning of a comprehensive prospective survey of n=370 foster care enquirers by the Centre for Excellence in Child and Family Welfare for current home-based-care program models, and the programmatic design needed to attract, integrate and retain future carers.
