Advertised call for submissions: Therapeutic Outcomes Focussed Residential Care and Support Services

On 3 November the Department of Human Services released an Advertised Call for Submissions (ACS) for the delivery of Therapeutic Outcomes Focussed Residential Care and Support Services in Victoria.
The Department of Human Services is seeking suitably qualified and experienced service providers to undertake the new approach to service(s) as described within the call for Submissions documentation.

Betrayal of Trust: Factsheet – The new ‘failure to disclose’ offence

The Department of Justice has released the Betrayal of Trust fact sheet on the new offence of failing to disclose child sexual abuse to police, which came into operation on 27 October 2014. The fact sheet provides important information about this new criminal offence that imposes a clear duty upon adults to report information about child sexual abuse to police, including what constitutes a reasonable belief, defining a reasonable excuse for not disclosing the information and further exemptions to the offence.

Lead Tenant Start Up Training

Lead tenant is an out-of-home care placement option providing medium-term accommodation and support to young people aged 16-18 years, who have been placed away from the care of their families by Child Protection. These young people are generally subject to custody to the Secretary or guardianship to the Secretary orders, as defined by the Children, Youth and Families Act 2005 (Children Youth and Families Act).
