    As a result of the review undertaken by the Department of Health and Human Services of the Responding to Quality of Care Concerns in Out of Home Care learning program there is now an updated learning program available facilitated by Berry Street Victoria. This replaces the Responding to Quality of Care Concerns in Out of Home Care course.

    Victorian foster carers play a vital role in giving vulnerable and at risk children safe and loving homes, helping to change their lives for the better. They are the cornerstone of the out of home system.

    However, for the first time in the state’s history the number of foster carers has entered a steady decline and the demand for foster carers is continuing to grow. These trends are concerning.

    Victorian Government makes a welcome investment in education for children and young people in out-of-home-care  

    As part of a boost to education funding of $747 million over four years, the Andrew’s Labor Government will provide $13.2 million to establish new LOOKOUT Education Support Centres to help ensure vulnerable young people in out-of-home-care stay in education.
