Essential skills to identify and support those with thoughts of suicide
LivingWorks safeTALK is half day in-person workshop that teaches carers the skills to identify someone with thoughts of suicide, ask them openly and directly about suicide, and connect them with resources that can help keep them safe.
Using a simple yet effective model, LivingWorks safeTALK empowers everyone to make a difference.
Carers that complete the safeTALK training are encouraged to then take the ASIST course, which is a two-day workshop providing skills to intervene with someone who may be having thoughts of suicide, helping them feel less overwhelmed and create a safety plan with the person help them keep safe, access help, and find hope.
Many communities and organisations use both safeTALK and ASIST. By working in concert, people with safeTALK and ASIST training create a larger, more effective network of safety. Training provided by LivingWorks – LivingWorks has provided communities and organisations with suicide prevention and intervention solutions for over 40 years, providing an industry-leading approach to suicide prevention, with the mission to empower everyone to play a role.
